The clarifier does the sorting. Moon with the Seven of Swords: something really is being held back, so look closer, calmly. Moon with the Two of Cups: the bond is sound and the fog is a phase, so talk rather than test.
"Is he cheating?" is the wrong question for this card, and it will give you a wrong-shaped answer. Ask "what is unclear between us right now?" instead. The Moon answers that one well, and the answer usually points somewhere less dramatic and more fixable.
The card says a part of the picture is hidden. It does not say the hidden part is betrayal.
